The golden rule that has worked over the years is 100 light bulbs for every foot and a half tree. But we recommend that you use three 100 light bulbs for a foot tree. Since there’s really no general agreement on the exact number of light bulbs to be used per foot, you are free to use as many lights bulbs as you want.
If you love lights, you can use 1000 light bulbs for your 15 foot Christmas tree or you can 1500 bulbs following the 100 light bulbs per foot tree. If it happens that you don’t like too much light intensity, you can limit the number of lights to 500 light bulbs, that one-third of the height of your Christmas tree.
Another determinant of the number of light bulbs you can use on your Christmas tree is the type, size and style of light you choose. It is important that you examine the length and style of the of the lights to ensure that you’d be making the right choice and that you’d have enough to cover your tree.
We recommend 50 meters of light for your 15 foot Christmas tree and you can add more if you have extra space left on your tree.
